Well, after selling my car i decided to venture down to town (actually taking only 1 hour to get down there by bus) to view the film "Hot Fuzz." Ever since I saw the preview, I have been waiting for this film to come out. I was disappointed that it was not released at a closer theater for me, but nonetheless, it was still worth the trip to town. I liked it so much I thought I would "blog" about it before turning out to bed. So....without further adieu, here is my review of "Hot Fuzz."

Well, if you enjoyed "Shaun of the Dead" I think that you may enjoy "Hot Fuzz" as well. The film is about an extraordinary, but well dedicated, police officer who, because of his deep dedication, is transfered to a "quiet" town. He later learns that the town is not as quiet as he orginally suspected it to be. He teams up with a fellow, movie-loving, officer and together they discover the truth behind the town's suspiciousness.

Personally, I really enjoyed the film. Similar to "Shaun of the Dead" there are many jokes that you really have to pay attention to catch, as it is a very witty film. Unlike American "slap-stick" comedy, i.e. Will Ferral films, it is the verbal jokes that takes this film to a higher level of comedy. In the preview, it mentions "if you like action cop films, then you will love "Hot Fuzz" and the film held true to that slogan. There were many referances to American action films (Lethal Weapon, Point Blank, to name a few), but believe me this was no parody to those films. In fact, I think it was the references that add to the comic spin of the film.

What also added to the film was the numerous "unexpected" events throughout the film. There were many scenes that added up, but then you are shock by what actual is happening. Things are not all what they seem. I am sure there are many jokes that I overlooked (due to either laughter, or other distractions) but gaurantee when I see it again (on DVD) I will catch them all. I highly recommend veiwing this film. It is witty.

Well, this is by far the first "happy" blog I have had in a real long time. Talk too you all laters!!
