A number of U.S. states are planning to legalize marijuana. Do you agree or disagree with this policy, and why?

I have mixed feeling. I have never taken any drug, outside of alcohol. I am not sure how I feel about marijuana. I understand that there is much argument for and against the topic. I have never taken and don't plan on taking the drug. Some say it is harmless, others claim otherwise. I can foresee the worst case scenario, as well as the opposite. I know, very ambiguous response, but I am not knowledgeable enough to provide a substantial response to this question. I don't like the smell of it, like I don't like the smell of cigarettes.

I like the smell of it BUT I don't smoke/eat it.

Hnmm, yeah it's a debatable topic. I think it's best to keep things the way they are.

I feel you are right! It is quite debatable. I mean, I can understand where everyone is coming from, but at the same time know the studies behind it as well. Even research can't agree if it's good of bad for you. That being said, I don't really want to put my life out there on a whim. I can see all the irresponsible people driving and using it around the wrong people and the effects of the "side smoking" of it. That all being said... I think I agree with you, leave it the way it is... i guess.

I flip flop on this issue quite a bit, everything from it being a gateway drug (no idea if this has been proven true) to the medical benefits for people suffering from migraines like me. I've never tried it as living in the States I was told I would have 24 hours to clear the country and be black listed for a drug charge (being a Canadian Citizen, American citizen I don't know the consequences, but it's not good anyway).

I might be accepting of having medical licenses for designated use, but I'm struggling to find a good reason to market it like cigarettes, of which they get huge amounts of profits from yet spend 3% for anti smoking campaigns.
