Coma-Chi's CD has been shipped.... I should be receiving it shortly... I am soooo excited about that.

A brief intro to Coma-Chi... she's like one of Tokyo's hottest Hip/Hop MC's. She raps old skul hip/hop style (which I still love) with both English and Japanese... quite inspirational to me (see my new myspace for details...oh, right, more on that one later... ha!). I can't wait to get her debut album.

Here, take a peek at her:

I've noticed that most Japanese songs from anime series interject English words in their theme and ending songs. Do you think maybe they just don't have a translation for that, or maybe they just want to spice it up a little? I never understood that lol.

Of course, I am not the artist, thus I cannot speak entirely for them, but MY theory is....

Every Japanese person is "forced" and I mean, forced, to learn English. It is not like here in America where we are "Forced" to learn another language. English Language study begins as early as Elementary for many Japanese people. This is a major concern for someone like me, because as more and more emphasis is put on "English" what will happen to the original "Japanese" language??

So when you see it in songs or anime of wherever, it is genuinely put there by the author of the piece. In most cases it is because that is the way Japanese Culture is set up... force fed English (and there is great Emphasis on learning it too. To the point where one may not even be able to go to college if he/she does not have the acquired amount of English proficiency).

I hope that helps!

I know this is not 100% related to this post, but another online friend posted this and I immediately thought you'd like to see it.
