Do you think society puts too much pressure on people to be in relationships and/or have children? Do you think this ostracizes people who would be perfectly content to remain single and/or child-free? Is this pressure worse around the holidays?

Good question!! Yes! I think there is much pressure for people to be in a relationship. I keep stating that I am happy to be alone and single and child free and I keep being told, "don't worry, you'll find someone" etc...etc...etc.

And then comes the holidays. A single person's worse nightmare because everything is advertising romance, couples, family, yadda yadda yadda. It's quite sickening. What's wrong with being single? What's wrong with being child free?

I am not looking for anyone to be in a relationship. I don't want to be in anything but to have some people to hang out with and talk to. What's wrong with just doing that? In the end, it's my choice, so why can't people let me live the way I want to live? I am sure that there are others out there who feel that same as I do.

Wow, this was the best question yet!! yay.

It's interesting because I've never felt pressured around the holidays to be in a relationship. For me, Christmas as always been about family so I never concerned myself with whether or not I happened to be seeing someone. I've been single for nearly three years now and I've never once felt lonely around the holidays. I'm pretty comfortable with where I am in my life, so I don't concern myself with it. When it happens, it happens.

I was pressured by my mum many times, but I think she decided to back down. Now all I get from most people is, "one day it'll happen." I am just like, "Whatever."

Thanks for the comment!
