GREAT NEWS!!!!!

If I work this summer and be frugal with my spending, I can be out of credit card debt at the end of September.
That will mean, starting October... I will have an extra 700$ a month that will be "MY" money! Yay.

This could not have come at a better time. With the economy taking a nose dive faster that a jetliner with no tail fins, I have gotten word that there might even be a "pay cut" on the teacher level. So, that ends up being $400 cut on a monthly salary... ouch. If I am still in debt when, and if, that happens... I will be in deep kimuchi.

So, let's hope I can fulfill this goal. Then this will end up being THE BEST YEAR EVER!!

Take care.

PS: The sad news is: With the economy being as bad as it is, I have decided to cancel my Japan trip for next summer. I need to invest in a "back up" computer (or better, newer model) in case something goes wrong with my laptop. But I will still plan a winter trip to Minnesota, and maaaaaaybe Canada (undecided still). Ski trip for sure!

Aw sad to Japan but yay to debt-free and trips (double yay if you make it to Canada lol). Hope you're surviving the last week of school and general craziness that seems to come with the beginning of summer :)

Actually, Japan is not really a "sad" thing persay. I would rather start saving money than bow it all away. This whole economic meltdown has me slightly standing on my heels and I need to prepare for the "just in case" scenario. Luckily, my position at the school will be secured for the next school year (and more because I am tenured). I will also be working an after school tutoring program to bring in some extra cash. So, Japan can wait (along with my computer, and many other things I planned to buy this summer) and just sit and focus on knocking off the credit card bills.

And yea, I am surviving the last week. Whew.

Okay, those reasons make sense.

In less than a month I'll be in Chicago for a weekend - Amity has invited me for a group interview, so that brings me one step closer to teaching English in Japan. If I impress them enough at the group interview (July 10th) I'll get called back for a personal interview on the 11th.

OOOOO, wish you the best of luck on that. I am sure that you will like Japan. I haven't been there for a while now, I kinda miss it. But.... with the economy being what it is, not sure when I will make it back. Plus, I want to move out of the neighborhood I am living in, so I need to save, save, save.
Mind if I add you as a friend??

Please do add me!

It seems like a lot of your entries are friends only and I've missed being able to read them since I don't log into my other LJ very often anymore.

Adding you as a friend now. . .
