Done.... Finished.... My First "Adult" Book of the Year...

Sure, I have read tons and tons of children's books and education-geared non-fiction books, But today, in spite of my hectic "school" life, I finally finished an adult book.

Today, I spent 4 hours just reading and reading Sophie Kinsella's "Remember Me?" It a story about a 25-year old woman who gets involved and a terrible car accident to wake up with amnesia. The funny thing is, she doesn't recall the last three years of her life and she's 28 years old!

Trying to fit in a world she doesn't remember with a husband she knows nothing about and a body that looks nothing like her, she ends up having to discover everything about her new life. What she doesn't expect? All the secrets that came with the way her highly posh life-style.

Quite frankly, I loved this book (obviously, I gave up being on the internet just to read it). So bits were well... obvious, and others were quite shocking. The whole time I kept wondering... "Is she going to remember??' Now, I am not going to say she does, or doesn't, but the book was tremendous. I am planning to purchase the beginning of the "Shopaholic" series this weekend and begin reading that. Chances are... I will not go watch the film, but just be content with the book.

Whew, long week, but worth it. Today's Friday, yay!

Oh wow that book sounds fabulous! Maybe it just hits home with me being 25 and going through memory loss. While I've never gotten amnesia from a car accident, I lost June/July-November of 2004 from an inability to form new memories (yay stupid medications). Even with that short a time frame my entire life had changed and wow was it weird getting back to "normal" life. One day I was finishing off my junior year of college, next there's snow on the ground and I'm 300 miles away at home. Weird weird feeling lol. I never regained those memories but luckily I wrote like a crazy person so there are some details filled in for me albeit vague.

I hope your Friday goes well and your weekend is even better!

It was a GREAT book!! I loved it! I stayed up late last night just to finish it. Yes, it was THAT good. I recommend it, if you enjoy reading "Chick-Lit."

Glad to hear you're okay after you accident though. hang in there. Cheers.

I had seen some previews for Shopaholic, recognized it after you mentioned it a couple times lol. Sounded like a good book, I may start reading the Twilight series (Jessica succumbed first :P, I'm following :o). How many books are in that series?

For the Shopaholic, I do believe there are four. I have not read one yet, I just picked up Kinsella's latest creation and read it. It had nothing to do with the Shopaholic series. I was just standing in Borders wondering what to buy. I have tried numerous times to purchase fantasy books, but never really enjoyed them enough to get into them. Chances are I will not get into Warhammer... sorry. IDK why either. I think it's bizarre. But as i was looking for something to read, I noticed her book, "Remember Me." So, I thought... "Why not?"

Actually, to be honest, I am not that surprised either. In High School, I started reading Danielle Steele. I have, since then, not picked up her books. Even in Japan, my first Japanese Novel was... "Chick Literature." That's why I am not surprised. I should have never tried to stray from the genre, LOL.

So, tomorrow, I am exciting about going to town, as another opportunity to purchase yet another new book.

Alright, take care and keep in touch.

That kinda reminds me of a movie "50 first dates" but only because of the amnesia event. But that movie focused more on the man.
